A Garbage Patch floats in the Pacific Ocean. It’s over 1.6 square kilometres and is made up of plastic and marine waste. Virtue approached us to support their collaboration with Converse to start clearing it up.
Being asked to take part in such an iconic sustainability project was an honour for us so we jumped at the chance, and pulled out all the stops. Rosie Lee Digital partnered with its sister organisation Rosie Lee Creative to create a virtual pop-up store to raise funds for the clean up.
The project culminated in an immersive 360 experience launch on Earth Day 2021 and saw over half a million unique visitors wanting to learn more about the issue and Converse’s response.
Working with multiple stakeholders across even more timezones, and on a combination of technology that we hadn’t used before certainly presented us with some challenges but we overcame them and were really proud of the end result.
We learned a lot along the way, and reinforced our belief that brands can be a powerful force when it comes to creating an impact on sustainability and other pertinent issues of our time.
